(SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles try to draw closer to the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East tonight when the divisional foes continue a four-game set at Camden Yards. Baltimore trimmed the Blue Jays lead atop the division to 3 1/2 games on Thursday, as Delmon Young hit a two-run homer to help the Os take a 4-2 win. The Orioles handed Mark Buehrle his second straight loss, knocking him around for eight hits and four runs in 6 1/3 innings to help Baltimore win for the third time in four tries. Toronto will send righty Drew Hutchison to the mound on Friday, with a 4-4 records and a 3.96 ERA. Hutchison was roughed up his last time out on Sunday against St. Louis, as he gave up five runs and six hits in three innings. Hutchison could get himself righted on Friday, as he owns a 2.03 ERA in eight road starts compared to an 8.72 ERA in five home outings "Hes definitely pitched better on the road -- and some guys are like that," Gibbons said after Hutchisons latest turn. "Its hard to put a finger on it. But you cant pitch them on the road every time." The scuffling Blue Jays have lost five of their last six on the heels of an 18-3 stretch. Theyve also managed just nine runs in that span. "As hot as we were, we were going to cool off sooner or later," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "Well get it going. Were too good of an offense. Well be OK." In the series opening victory over the Blue Jays, Kevin Gausman (2-1) picked up his second win in a row, allowing a run on five hits and three walks over six frames. The former first-round pick was coming off his first win as a starter on Saturday against Oakland, when he struck out six in seven innings and gave up just four hits and one run. "He didnt quite have the command he had last time out," said Orioles manager Buck Showalter, "but thats kind of hard to duplicate." Buehrle (10-3) remained tied with Yankees rookie Masahiro Tanaka for the MLB lead in wins. He also lost to St. Louis on Saturday despite giving up just one run in seven innings, snapping a seven-start unbeaten streak Baltimore may have a hard time shrinking Torontos lead even more on Friday, as it turns to righty Ubaldo Jimenez, who has lost his last three decisions and is coming off an awful showing his last time out. Jimenez was banged around by Oakland on Sunday to the tune of six runs and two hits with five walks in just 2 1/3 innings, as he fell to 2-7 to go along with a 5.01 ERA. Jimenez had faced the minimum batters through two innings before the wheels came off in the third. "I started so good the first couple innings, and then that inning I lost the ability to throw a strike," Jimenez said. "Its one of those days. Its a really tough game." Jimenez is 2-2 in six starts versus the Blue Jays with a 5.23 ERA. Baltimore has won four of its seven matchups with the Blue Jays this season. Joe Torre Jersey . - Mike Zimmer has brought a demanding style to the Minnesota Vikings.EDMONTON - It took 17 attempts but head coach Chris Jones finally got the complete game out of his Edmonton Eskimos that hes been waiting for all season. The Eskimos scored an impressive 37-3 win over the B.C. Lions Saturday, their third straight victory that wrapped up second place in the CFL West Division. Its been a long time coming. Weve been trying to put four quarters together and it was good to be able to go in (the locker room) tonight and brag on them a little bit, Jones said after the one-sided win before 26,388 fans. Minus a few missed assignments here and there we played an extremely solid football game. The Eskimos scored on their first two possessions for a 10-0 lead that they extended to 20-3 by the half. They scored on their second possession of the third quarter and were up 30-3 going into the final 15 minutes. It was only the second time this season the Lions defence had given up more than 29 points. It wasnt perfect football, but if I remember right we got a field goal our first drive, a touchdown our second drive, said quarterback Mike Reilly who completed 14 of 24 passes for 289 yards while running for two touchdowns. We played real good right from the start. Our defence is playing real good football, gave us the ball in good position and we were converting it into points. Our offensive line did a phenomenal job … gave me plenty of time to throw and opened up some lanes for myself and John (White).Reilly, White and linebacker J.C. Sherritt were outstanding.White ran 17 times for 122 yards and caught four passes for 80 yards, his second 200-yard game of the year.Hes just a real fireball, he runs real hard, hes never going to go out of bounds and if youre in a position to tackle him hes going to pop you and make you pay for it, Reilly said of White. It seemed like every time he toucheed (the ball) he was getting 10 plus yards.ddddddddddddHes a nice luxury to have.Reluctant to talk about himself, White did admit it was a pretty awesome performance and a pretty awesome win.Everyone wants to talk about my skip, he said of a little stutter-step hop he took in the middle of a 30-yard run that set up Edmontons first touchdown in the ninth minute. I dont know man, it just comes out. Any move it just comes out.On the defensive side Sherritt had eight tackles, three quarterback sacks and forced a third-quarter fumble the Eskimos recovered and turned into a scoring drive. He admitted it may have been his best game of the season for himself and the defence. Were getting down to it and the team that can get the momentum and start shining late is going to have a good shot (in the playoffs). Thats what we were focusing on, playing a complete game. We wanted to make sure we started fast and ended fast.Sherritt saw his CFL single-season tackle record of 130 broken by Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian, who had 12 tackles for a total of 136 on the year.Hes a player I really respect in this league, Sherritt said. If your record is going to fall you want it to fall to a guy who deserves it and he deserves everything he got.The Lions dropped to 9-8 and into a tie with Saskatchewan for third place going into the final week of the regular season. Their offence, under the direction of Kevin Glenn most of the day, finished with just seven first downs and 161 total yards. Edmonton had 30 first downs and 559 yards total offence.B.Cs only points came on Paul McCallums first-quarter 21-yard field goal. Edmontons other touchdowns were scored by backup quarterback Pat White on a 10-yard run and a five-yard White to Calvin McCarty pass. Hugh ONeill kicked three field goals and four converts. ' ' '
