The Toronto Blue Jays placed catcher Dioner Navarro on the bereavement/family medical emergency list on Wednesday. Catcher Erik Kratz and righthander Neil Wagner were recalled from Buffalo of the International League (AAA). Righthander Chad Jenkins has been optioned to Buffalo. Navarro must remain on the bereavement/family medical emergency list for a minimum of three days to a maximum of seven days. The 30-year-old is batting .276 with one home run and 16 RBI this season, his first as a Blue Jay. Kratz, 33, returns for a 3rd time to the Major League club. In 11 games (four starts) the 6-4, 240 pound right-handed hitter has posted a .231 average with two home runs and 6 RBI. Wagner, 30, returns for a 2nd time in 2014, having appeared in nine games for the Blue Jays out of the bullpen. The right-hander has allowed three runs over his 8.2 innings for a 3.12 ERA. Both teams had reason to question some of the calls and non-calls in this game. The Coyotes were the better team in overtime and only a number of great saves by Ondrej Pavelec took the game to a shootout. In the two games against Phoenix, Pavelec has stopped 52 of 55 shots, is 2-0 and has a save percentage of .945. Jacob Trouba led the Jets in ice time at 26:39, while Little took a team high 24 face-offs, winning 13. Jim Slater and Evander Kane both returned to the line-up, Slater has been out since mid-October, while Kane missed the last six before the break."It was a slugfest for the puck, but the game was better than I thought it would be after the layoff," commented Maurice post-game. "Teams generated good looks, there were good saves. I liked our goaltending and in the end he delivered two points. We were a little uptight after the 2-2 goal. But I dont complain about getting two points. That team (Phoenix) played pretty well." The coach was also impressed by his goalie, Pavelec. "They had three prime chances in overtime," said Maurice.
