Kimi Raikkonen has described the consistency with which F1 regulations are being applied as a joke, amid growing discontent from drivers over the sports rulebook. The Ferrari driver vented his frustration over team radio during Sundays Hungarian GP after feeling Red Bulls Max Verstappen was unfairly blocking him in their fight for fifth place.Despite the Finns anger, stewards did not investigate Verstappens driving and the Dutchman successfully fended off the Ferrari. Raikkonen was annoyed with both Verstappens conduct and the stewards after the race - citing the 107 per cent rule controversy from qualifying in his argument to suggest the rules are not being applied consistently. There are so many rules discussed and in some rules you can move, but when the guy behind makes the decision to commit to something, and when the other guy moves afterwards its difficult to avoid the car in front, said Raikkonen, who broke his front wing against the back of Verstappens Red Bull. In a situation similar to the Spanish Grand Prix, Red Bulls Max Verstappen battled to keep Kimi Raikkonen from passing him, but they did collide on lap 57 The stewards or the people who decide how things go here...in many ways its a joke, the rules.A good example is the qualifying. You have the 107 per cent rule and the people who didnt go through from first qualifying they are applying it to those cars, but not applying it on the rest. So how can you suddenly have the rule and in the same qualifying apply it two different ways? The F1 Gossip ColumnIf somebody can explain to me how that works? But it seems to be F1 these days. Something must change because it looks bad to people outside [the sport] and its not fair. There is a rule and it should apply in exactly the same way to every person. The Hungarian GP weekend produced a series of rules controversies. The stewards Saturday night investigation into polesitter Nico Rosbergs pace while passing double-waved yellow flags in qualifying was debated publicly among drivers - a discussion which continued between Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton after the race - while the FIAs decision to further tighten the radio communication rules were questioned. In the post-race press conference, Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have a disagreement over double yellow flags On Thursday, Sebastian Vettel described the revisions as complete bull****Jenson Button received a drive-through penalty in the race after McLaren were adjudged to have contravened the rules by telling him how to get round a brake problem. The Briton told Sky Sports F1: There are certain things we shouldnt be telling drivers because we have to deal with it ourselves, but when you have a power unit thats so complex, a driver cant figure out everything himself. And when your brake pedal goes to the floor I consider that a safety concern, so I dont think you should be punished by fixing a safety concern that can end in an accident.Dont miss the F1 Report: Hungarian GP review on Sky Sports F1 at 8.30pm on Wednesday as Marc Priestley and Ben Hunt join Natalie Pinkham in the studio to discuss the fallout from the Budapest race. Bryan Stows father said his son probably wouldnt understand the details of the settlement that will give him about $14 million from the Dodgers, "but Bryan will know that he got some help today." "Hes not going to be 100 per cent, maybe for a long time, maybe never. What he gets is going to help him through now, and thats what he needs," Dave Stow said. The jury delivered its verdict in a Los Angeles courtroom after weeks of testimony about the assault after the opening day game in 2011 between the rival teams. Stow, 45, was left with disabling brain damage and became a symbol of violence at sporting events. He was in the courtroom for part of the trial, his wheelchair positioned front and centre so jurors could see the ghastly scars on his head where his skull was temporarily removed during efforts to save his life. Experts testified that the former Northern California paramedic Stow will never work again and has suffered repeated strokes and seizures. They said he will require around-the-clock care. Lawyers for Stow claimed the team and former owner Frank McCourt failed to provide adequate security. In split decisions, jurors found that the Dodgers were negligent but absolved McCourt. In civil cases, only nine of 12 jurors must agree on the verdict. The Dodgers "did have a (security) plan but somewhere along the line that plan broke. And it needed to be fixed," juror Carlos Munoz said after the verdict. "Hopefully we helped to fix it. ... If youre going to own a stadium, do it right." Jurors determined that Stow suffered about $18 million in damages in the form of lost earnings, medical expenses and pain and mental suffering. The Dodgers must pay $13.9 million of that because while finding the team negligent, jurors assigned it only a portion of the responsibility for Stows harm. Stows attackers shared the rest of the responsibility for Stows haarm, jurors determined.dddddddddddd. However, they werent sued and so cannot be required to pay a share of the damages. Stows parents pronounced themselves satisfied with the jurys award even though it is less than half of what they had sought. "Well make it work for him," said Stows mother, Ann Stow. The defence had argued that security was stronger than ever at an opening day contest and contended that Stow was partially to blame because he was drunk. But jurors were unanimous in deciding that Stows own negligence wasnt a substantial factor in causing his harm. Stows mother said she held her husbands hand as the court read that part of the verdict form. "I was so ecstatic because we know our son and we know that the picture the defence was trying to portray was not Bryan at all," Ann Stow said. They said they had not spoken to their son, who did not attend the hearing, but did talk to his sisters and expected they would talk to him. In San Francisco, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he was happy for the family that there was finally a verdict. "What happened shouldnt have happened. We have to keep that in mind. But also for the fans coming to the ballpark, you need the proper security," he said. "It shouldnt be a situation where youre afraid to go to a game or you cant enjoy yourself." Dodgers fans Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood pleaded guilty to the attack in criminal court after a lengthy preliminary hearing in which witnesses said security guards were absent from the parking lot where Stow was attacked. The complicated civil case even threw jurors at one point, who announced last week that they were deadlocked. The judge ordered them to resume deliberations. "They struggled through it," Dana Fox, an attorney for the Dodgers, said after the verdict. "Remember, after four days they had not found liability on the part of the defendants. That is quite telling, I think, in and of itself." In the wake of the attack, the Dodgers and Los Angeles police increased their security at games, including adding more patrols and undercover officers wearing rival team jerseys. ' ' 'nd leads the WHL in scoring with 12 goals and 25 points in 10 games. Greg Chase and Zane Jones supplied the offence for the Hitmen (5-3-1), who have earned at least one point in three straight contests. After two scoreless periods, Jaedon Descheneau scored and Luke Philp added one into an empty net for the Ice (5-4-1). Nick McBride stopped 30 shots in net for Prince Albert (6-4-1). ' ' 's Hall of Fame career. "The first six or eight or 10 minutes, I thought we were aggressive. We were involved. I thought after that point they were just so much more aggressive than we were. It ends up a 12-point game, but it really was more than a 12-point game. "They had so much more intensity than we did." Not at the start. North Carolina attacked the middle of the Syracuse zone with great success at the outset, with McAdoo hitting a pair of jumpers and J.P. Tokoto another from the foul line as the Tar Heels gained an 8-4 lead in the first 4 minutes. "We started slow, let McAdoo get in the lane," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. "Once we got back in front, our defence was good the whole game." The Orange regrouped after a timeout and went on a 17-5 run keyed by Fair and Grant, who did all the scoring. Fair, who had three early turnovers and was struggling at the start, hit a 3 from the wing and converted three free throws to give Syracuse a 19-15 lead, and two free throws by Grant completed a 10-0 spurt that put the Orange on top to stay, 21-15 at 8:53. The Tar Heels cooled off in a big way after the solid start, unable to penetrate inside. After Paige converted a three-point play with 13:04 left, UNC got only a fast-break slam dunk by McAdoo, a layup by Nate Britt and a jumper in the lane by Leslie McDonald in the ensuing 11 minutes and went into the locker room at halftime trailing 34-22. "Forr us, not being able to get looks -- we were successful early in the game.dddddddddddd Thats really on us, McAdoo said. "And also them being really good." Syracuse (16-0, 3-0 ACC) evened its all-time record against the North Carolina (10-6, 0-3) to 4-4. UNC started 0-2 in ACC play three times in the past five years and five times overall, and the loss to Syracuse equaled the worst conference start in school history in 1996-97, Dean Smiths final year as head coach. The last time North Carolina scored fewer than 45 points was in a 56-44 loss to eventual national champion Villanova in the Southeast Regional final of the 1985 NCAA tournament. The Tar Heels also beat North Carolina State 45-44 in February 1997. UNC shot 2 of 12 from behind the arc against the Syracuse zone and 20 of 51 (39.2 per cent) overall and was outrebounded 41-35, 17-10 on the offensive glass, netting just two second-chance points. "They were just playing harder," said Tokoto, who finished with three points on 1-of-6 shooting. "Thats pretty much what it was. We couldnt knock down the shots we needed to make and go on our run." The Tar Heels dont play again for a week, when they host Boston College. "Cant go backwards," Tokoto said. "Its on to the next game. Just got to look at the film, look at what we did wrong as a team, and where we can improve on." North Carolina was coming off a 63-57 home loss to Miami in which the Tar Heels shot just 31 per cent (20 for 65) and finished with a season-low scoring output against Miamis zone. This game, which featured teams with a combined 3,990 wins (UNC is third with 2,100 and Syracuse fifth with 1,890) was decided by a dominant first half by the Orange. Tyler Ennis finished with 10 points and seven assists to go with a season-high four turnovers, and Trevor Cooney had five steals and 10 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Rakeem Christmas contributed eight rebounds and had four of the Oranges nine blocks. Marcus Paige led North Carolina with 17 points and McAdoo had 15 points and nine rebounds. Desmond Hubert suffered a concussion in practice Friday and did not play against Syracuse. ' ' ' was derailed by injuries had been released by the Red Sox last month after batting .216 with two homers and 15 RBIs in 52 games. The 31-year-old missed all of the 2012 and 2013 seasons due to an assortment of injuries. After leaving Thursdays game at Baltimore after getting hit by a pitch on his right thumb, Washingtons Ian Desmond didnt play Friday. Desmond entered Friday leading all shortstops in the majors with 55 RBIs. NOTES: Philadelphia improved to 19-27 at Citizens Bank Park, where they have struggled this season. ... Rollins last hit two homers in a game on Aug. 1, 2012, at Washington. ... Washingtons Wilson Ramos extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a fifth-inning single. ... ' ' 's big for us to go out and stop them, knowing theyre a running team.Jacksonville, meanwhile, ran 35 times for 185 yards — the most in Bradleys two seasons.Robinsons 8-yard TD scamper in the fourth quarter provided some cushion, and rookie Storm Johnson added a 4-yard scoring run a few minutes later — the exclamation point in Jacksonvilles third home victory in the last three seasons. We felt like in previous weeks we were within reach of getting wins, Jaguars left tackle Luke Joeckel said. We talked all week about finishing. We had to make plays at the end of the game, finish it and go win it.The Browns certainly helped.Jordan Poyer fumbled a punt return with about six minutes remaining, and Jacksonvilles LaRoy Reynolds recovered for the teams best field position of the day. Robinson scored on the next play.Brian Hoyer lost a fumble that led to a field goal in the third quarter and threw an interception in the fourth. He completed 16 of 41 passes for 215 yards, perhaps rekindling debate about how long first-round draft pick Johnny Manziel will stay on the sideline. Hoyer had been solid all season, but that was with a dynamic running game. The Browns made two changes along their offensive line in an effort to replace Pro Bowl centre Alex Mack. Mack broke his left leg last week and had season-ending surgery. Right guard John Greco slid to centre, and Paul McQuistan, who was with Seattle last season, stepped in at guard. The Jaguars took advantage, getting steady pressure up the middle. When you dont have the best centre in the NFL, you have someone thats less than the best, Browns left tackle Joe Thomas said. But if we had played to our standard, I think we would have been OK.Jacksonville seized momentum late in the second quarter with a fourth-down stop at the 24-yard line. The Browns oddly opted to throw on fourth-and-1. Red Bryant pressured Hoyer, who floated the ball to tight end Jordan Cameron. He couldnt come down with it, and Jacksonville needed just three plays to go 76 yards the other way.Bortles connected with Robinson twice, the second going 31 yards for his first career touchdown. So instead of heading into the locker room up 9-0 or maybe 13-0, the Browns trailed 7-6.This is disappointing, Thomas said. Thats the nature of this league. You win one game and youre crowned Super Bowl champions. You lose a game and youre announced as the worst team in the league. I hope we have the perspective to know thats the way it goes in the NFL.NOTES: Browns failed to score 21 points for first time this season. ... Jaguars have allowed two touchdowns in their last three games. ... Jaguars DE Andre Branch (groin) left the locker room on crutches. ... Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny will have an MRI on his right shoulder.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL The Winnipeg Jets look to redeem themselves against the Blackhawks in Chicago tonight. Pistorius, 27, claims he mistook Steenkamp for a dangerous intruder when he shot her with his licensed 9 mm pistol in the pre-dawn hours. Prosecutors say he killed the 29-year-old model after an argument and shot in anger and not fear last Valentines Day. Pistorius chief lawyer Barry Roux said at the start of defence-led testimony that the double amputees vulnerability and disability was at the centre of his case of a mistaken killing. But prosecutor Nel questioned Monday if Pistorius was merely trying one of a number of defences for shooting his girlfriend. "There must be some reason why Mr. Roux decided to call this witness. It might be the third defence that we have," Nel said. Pistorius, the first amputee to run at the Olympics, testified at his trial that he fired his gun accidentally at the toilet door. That aappeared to contradict his initial statement in court documents last year that he shot in self-defence because he believed his life was in danger.dddddddddddd Nel said if Pistorius had genuine anxiety issues, Judge Thokozile Masipa should order him to be evaluated. Responding to a question from a reporter after the trial was adjourned, Pistorius said "Go read the law." As the athlete sat in the Pretoria courtroom earlier Monday making notes and occasionally looking up at the witness stand, Vorster outlined his apparently unhappy childhood and a life story in contrast to the smiling, triumphant disabled runner who made history at the London Olympics in 2012. Vorsters testimony raised the question of whether Pistorius was now claiming "diminished responsibility" for the shooting, Nel said, because of a possible mental illness. Nel also asked the psychiatrist if someone who was suffering from such an anxiety disorder, and had access to guns, would be a danger to society. Vorster said the person would, indeed, be a danger. Vorsters testimony came at the start of the eighth week of the globally televised trial, and a day before Pistorius defence had predicted it might wrap up its case. It now appears unlikely that the defence will rest Tuesday. The prosecutions cross-examination of the psychiatrist could continue on day 31 of proceedings after Nel asked for more time to look at her report on Pistorius. Vorster reached her opinion after meeting with Pistorius on two occasions this month, and also from interviews with his family, friends and agent, she said. Pistorius and his brother and sister "were reared to see their external environment as threatening," Vorster said, and this played a part in his actions on the night of the shooting. Vorster said Pistorius was more likely to try and "fight" what he thought was an intruder than run away, because his disability meant it was harder for him to flee. Pistorius was on his stumps when he shot Steenkamp. ' ' '
